Pool Opening & Closing — On Time, Every Time

Seasonal service done right by the same family-owned team that's been opening and closing NJ pools for over a decade.

Start and End Your Season Right

A proper pool opening sets you up for a healthy, clear season. Dr. Zee's opening service includes cover removal and storage, equipment startup and inspection, water testing, and initial chemical balancing — everything you need to go from covered to swimming.

Closing your pool correctly is just as important. NJ winters are hard on pools — improper winterization leads to cracked pipes, damaged equipment, and a green swamp waiting in spring. Our closing service handles full winterization so you don't have to worry about freeze damage.

Many of our clients have trusted us with openings and closings every year since we installed their pool — because they know we'll treat their investment the way we'd treat our own. Consistency and reliability matter when the stakes are high.

We service pools we installed and pools we didn't. If you're in Central NJ and need a reliable seasonal service team, we're taking new clients. Spots fill up fast in spring and fall — book early.

Your Seasonal Schedule

01

Book Early

Opening and closing slots fill fast, especially in May and October. We recommend booking 4–6 weeks in advance of your target date.

02

Opening Day

We arrive on schedule, remove the winter cover, start up all equipment, test the water, and add the initial round of chemicals. Done in a few hours.

03

Mid-Season (Optional)

Many clients use us for mid-season water testing and chemical adjustments. Ask about it when you book your opening.

04

Closing Day

In the fall, we balance chemicals, blow out the plumbing lines, protect the equipment, and install the winter cover. Your pool is protected until spring.

Everything You're Wondering About

When should I open my pool in NJ?
Late April to mid-May, once overnight temperatures are consistently above 50°F. Opening too late risks algae growth; opening earlier means more active chemical management early in the season.
When should I close my pool for winter?
Labor Day through mid-October is the typical NJ window. Closing while temperatures are still mild makes chemical treatment more effective and gives the cover time to seat properly before the cold sets in.
What's included in a pool opening?
Winter cover removal and folding, equipment startup and inspection, water test, and initial chemical balancing to get your water safe and clear. We also flag any issues we notice during startup.
What's included in a pool closing?
Chemical treatment, lowering the water level, blowing out all plumbing lines, protecting equipment from freezing, and installing the winter cover. Your pool is fully protected before the first freeze.
Do you service pools you didn't install?
Yes. We provide opening and closing service for any above ground, semi-inground, or inground pool in Central NJ. New clients are welcome — contact us to check availability.
How far in advance should I book?
4–6 weeks ahead is our recommendation. The weeks around Memorial Day and Labor Day are our busiest, and slots are limited.
